"Thanks Andy for the great work on my 62/65 candy apple red Strat. I can't set the guitar down for a minute. It plays better than ever! Thanks for doing the restoration and set up on it. You are the man! Thanks again. Stay tuned."

LETTER FROM A "HUGE FAN IN MIAMI"

30 April 2008  R. Callahan

"Hi Andy! I love my LP's ! They both look absolutely great. They both sound fantastic .. can't tell which I prefer as they are different; the 59 quilt with the AB Sheptones has a deep rich sound that's addictive. The J Page is sharper sounding, not as warm a tone but the action and feel is killer. They are both really excellent and I absolutely love playing both of them. Thank you for transforming them into two fabulous guitars."

21 April 2008 A. Funaro

"Andy, I really wanted to wait until I spent a few hours with my guitar before writing you. The neck feels a million times better, especially the frets (I will bring it to you for some proper ones someday), the action and intonation are true on every fret and every string, the electronics are clean and the tone is superb. I played it through my custom Vibralux Reverb and the Jazzy tone almost brought me to tears. Then I switched to my old Bassman (4-10’s) and it now truly has that 335 sound to it with my old pickups and your talents added. The push-pull coil selectors were a very cool idea. Much faster than trying to mess with a switch. You have helped me replace an element to my music that has been gone for a very long time. I thank you for your professionalism and for doing me a solid on the price. I do not forget people that help me. Thanks again, Andy. You’re the greatest."

11 Apr 2008 B. Grimmett

"Hello Andy, I've been to you before and I love your service. I have a wah pedal and a tremelo pedal that arent working at the moment and I was wondering if you do work on pedals. I've tried doing work on my guitar equipment before but never with any success. I would really appreciate it if you could help me out."

(Yes, we fix pedals.)

2 Apr 2008 C. Swenson

"Alright . . . you are THE man! Fuc*in' Cool Work on my Geetar! I gotta tell you my 'new' guitar is even better than I hoped for! I only got to play her for about 45 minutes yesterday, but I am beyond thrilled! A thousand praises and if I ever need any work done you are absolutely 1 on my list! A HUGE thank you once again and a BIG thanks to Jason Lollar for recommending you and your work! OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a really hard time putting her down!!!! Thanks again for the fine, fine work…I'm really thrilled beyond words…you made my dream a reality…might sound weird, but it's true! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!"

12 Feb 2008 Phil D.

"The Tele sounds great... Just put it through its paces through a Valve Jr combo and then a Marshall microstack in overdrive. My son listened while I put it through the Marshall in OD -- he said "Cool, that's what an electric guitar is supposed to sound like"!

Check out Phil D.'s 1956 Tele "Before" and "After" our restoration.

"Hello Andy, I came in and got a guitar repair/set up from you about three weeks ago. I also purchased 6 sets of strings. Excellent work by the way, thanks so much."

"After Andy installed pig tails on my 59 RI Les Paul my jaw hit the floor. The tone transfer difference is quite simply night and day. I touch the stings and the increased vibration just lights her up in my hands. All my Les Pauls are getting pigtails now. Thanks AB!"

Date: Wed, 10 Oct 2007 From: Bob Q.

"Hey Andy, I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the work you've done for me over the past few months. My Super Reverb sounds great! The retubing you did took tons of floppiness out of the bass and cleaned up the sound completely . . . not to mention the fact that it wouldn't even turn on and blew fuses left and right when I gave it to you. The pedalboard is perfect. You can really hear the clarity in those cables and now setting up at gigs is a breeze. Finally, the L.P. HOLY CRAP! My fingers just glide over the strings now. Playing has never been so effortless. It wasn't even this nice when I bought it! And thanks for staining the inlays. Even though highlighters are useful for marking papers, their intense yellowsare best kept off fret boards.I can see the inlays just fine without it : ) I really owe the reason I sound so good now, to you. Thanks, man! Sincerely. Bob."

"Hello Andy. I hope you had a good weekend. Just wanted to share a write up on the modification work you did on my Strat. I posted this on my website "Strat Mod 2 - Solid Steel Saddles" ( http://www.guitargearenthusiast.com ). Thanks again for the great work on my guitar. It's really sing'in now! Chris."

Date: Mon, 17 Sept 2007 From: David G.

"Hi Andy, thanks again for the immediate help [with the Fender DeVille]. Our window for opportunity at the studio is small and your help allowed us to take advantage of that opportunity. You're awesome!"

Date: Thurs, 13 Sept 2007    From: Jim D.

"Andy, wanted to tell you how extremely happy I am with the work you did to all my guitars (Guild, Thompson, Strat)! The only word I can think of is PERFECTION. Thanks again for all your work and attention to detail! The 12-string will be next! All the best-"

"Now, that's what the f-ck I'm talking about! Hell, the only problem is that the axe is such a blast to play and, in truth, it really is earmarked for solo work on this project (which will not see those tracks until mid '08). Man, it's hard to set it down. Nice job. The chord voicings maintain their form even with diminished forms at high gain settings, and it's a breeze to tap and noodle around on--the action isn't too low, thus allowing for proper bend work, but it's all smooth enough for sweep and legato lines. Man, it's just nice not having to finesse my feel every second to compensate for the setup--why think when you should just be listening and playing. Thanks a ton-- (Yup, a whole 2000 pounds worth.)"

"Hey, just wanted to tell you, I got home and went to work, plugged  the Lakland in my usual front end (nice Radial passive DI, etc.) and  it's dead quiet, at least here in my studio, and that's with 2 big computer monitors going, various lights, etc.  Go figure. Not even a little buzz.  Anyhow, it sounds awesome--vast improvement in tone--I can really hear it going DI--sounds BIG. I'll still go for the shielding paint when you get it -can't hurt I  figure. Have a great day-"

"Heya Andy, i just wanted to say thanks again for the bass ('ol yella - or yellowjacket) i recorded w/ it for the first time this week for an album soon to be released on the Concord label, and wow... crisp punchy and tasty -incredibly articulate tone. I can't wait to hear the final mix (i'll send it to you when released) -thanks again!"

"Hi Andy, Hope all is well with you! I'm happy to report that I've been thoroughly enjoying playing the Steinberger that you worked on for me last year. The Duncan EVH pickup sounds killer in the bridge position. I'm loving the fretwork and the flat radius, too! Would your tech be able to take a Parker, with its composite fingerboard and glued-on frets, and give it a totally flat fretboard radius and replace the frets with Dunlop 6100 wire? Best-"

"Hi Andy, I really appreciate you taking the time with us and answering so many questions last Saturday at your place. Remember us, we were the three banditos (old guys) drooling all over the place, in awe and wonder of how knowledgeable you were with guitar gear. Respectively-"

Date: Fri, 8 June 2007    From: Mike G.

"Hey Andy, First, let me thank you for the superb job you did on the '69 SG Custom. The neck is perfect and my gig with it in March went great.

Next, I have to thank you for the excellent fire appraisals of my burned SG and 66 Strat.

Strat SG

They were so compelling that [the insurance company] finally paid off within the price range you set for both of them. So, I am now the proud owner of one of the cleanest '66 sunburst Strats in the world, and I was wondering if you could find time to do a set up job on both that and a new Les Paul I just got. I also plan to bring in a Tele belonging to a friend that needs some tuning key repair. Let me know when you have time for an appointment to bring these instruments in. Thanks again."

"Oh my gosh Andy, I don't know what to say. You took a dusty old lump of coal and turned it into a beautiful fine diamond.
What you did for my 1945 Gibson L 7 is nothing short of magnificent!
You sir are truly a world class guitar luthier and I am honored that you restored my baby for me. Thank you!"

"Hi Andy. Just dropping a line to say that while I was extremely impressed with your work on my SG,
I was even more impressed that you took the time to call and see that I was satisfied with the work you did.
You are in my book as a true professional. All the best, Harry."

"Andy, I hope this e-mail finds you well! My PRS positively roars since you worked on it. I was shocked to learn just how much louder it is now. It's really unbelievable. It seems to shake the very foundation of my house when I play it through my Marshall at my usual volume. Previously it had only shaken the walls! I'll see you again in a few months for maintenance. Aloha, Jonathan"

"Dear Andy, thank you for your time, expertise, and genuine enthusiasm!
You have once again made the joy of rescuing and restoring beautiful instruments possible.
2006 was a great year for my little orphaned lap steels & I!"

Date: Sun, 17 Dec 2006    From: Glenn W.

"Andy, I have been playing the Strat for a week now and it sounds great.
The new pickup gives me just what I was looking for in soloing. Cuts through nicely where the SC didn't.
The setup is noticeably improved too. It plays like butter. The intonation is dead on and my fingers seem to fly over the fretboard . . . the action is great. Playing chords was never easier. . .  thanks for doing such a pro job on it."

Date: Thu, 20 July 2006    From: William Young

"Dear Andy, I want to thank you for all the magic you put into my guitars.
It's like they have been reborn and subsequently I play and sound a lot better playing them.
The action and fine tuned intonation along with the precision polishing of the fret-board were the answers I didn't know I was looking for to improve the play substantially on the both of them.
I want to thank you very much for the work you did, I wasn't expecting it."

Date: Thu, 13 April 2006    From: Chris C.

"Andy, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your attention to detail and actually listening to me.
As you know, I am very picky on how I want my instruments set up because off how lightly I play.
It seems difficult to find skilled honest craftsmen these days. You did a great job on my guitar. I  will be in touch to bring you some other guitars."

"Andy, Received the '94 MIJ Custom Cream Tele and I'm having a great time with such a pretty and unique guitar.
I was sent a pic of the same model being played by The Edge. Guess I'm in good company. Only wish I could play like him!
Thanks for shipping so quickly and packing it so thoroughly!"

"Andy, I just wanted to drop you a line. The P Bass you worked on is totally great - feel and sound.
I haven't touched another bass since I got it back. In fact, I just got back from a session this morning and that is the only bass they let me play! Thank you!"

Date: 2004    From: Don H.

"Hi Andy, Just wanted to say thank you again for fixing up my old P bass. I always loved playing it and thought it was one of the best playing and sounding basses I ever played. I didn’t think it was possible, but you made it even better. It plays better than ever and the new pickups sound incredible! And the new paint job is Stunning! You and your staff are awesome! you have exceeded my expectations way above what I thought was possible. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!  I have a Schecter strat that I would like you to redo for me also. It is a mid 80’s model with some of the most beautiful wood I’ve ever seen. I would like to have it sanded down, refinished and buffed out so that it shines again. And then set up so that it plays as beautiful as my P-bass. Let me know if it is OK to bring it in next week. Thanks!"

"Andy, I'm very gratified with the two Gibson signature basses that I bought at your auctions.
They're the best basses I've ever played. "

"Hi Andy, Thank you for your help in selling my Dumble , setting up my Strat and hooking me up with the
Fuchs Overdrive Supreme. Those three things have helped me out tremendously. The Strat now plays like a new axe
and the Fuchs actually sounds better than the Dumble (and I had a great sounding Dumble).

BTW I love the way you set up my Strat . It plays great now, the Floyd Rose responds better and the intonation is dead on."

"Andy I've rented a Marshall half stack from you in the past.  It was made in the seventies and it had the 4 inputs that you showed me how to chain together to get the amazing distortion when it's cranked up to 11. It was so amazing that I would like to buy one for myself. If you know the amp that I'm talking about would you please send me a detailed description so that when I try to hunt one of these down I'll know what to look for. Plus any other advice you have would be greatly appreciated. You've been so helpful and friendly in the past that I figured you wouldn't mind helping me out again."

You packed it so well, not even a bomb would have made a scratch on her :)

I thank you all for the help and for being such great people."

"Andy, thanks for the short history on this '59 Strat. This is a great guitar with a very unique profile neck.
Some of my friends who played this guitar are really impressed with the feel of the neck and
the lightweight body. Ohh yeah, they are also impressed with the TONE too!!! This one is almost TOO good
to play on a daily basis in fear of  wearing out the frets. Do you know the original color of the guitar?
Judging from the wear of the neck, it doesn't look like it's gone thru a lot of wear & tear.

Thanks again for selling such a gem of a guitar to me. I'm almost sleeping with this thing every nite!"

Date: Fri, 18 May 2001         From: Drew Padilla

"Andy: Thanks for the great guitar head via eBay! I put it through the paces last weekend.
Wow! I've never had an all tube Marshall head, let alone a classic like the JCM 900.
The product was in excellent condition when it arrived, and far exceeded my expectations.
It performs flawlessly, and has more power than I expected for a 50W model.
Thank you again, and I'll be looking at your auctions in the future!!!"
